Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."

This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot then she thought again about the verse that says: "He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver." She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time the silver was being refined.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed.

The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, "How do you know when the silver is fully refined?" He smiled at her and answered, "Oh, that's easy -- when I see my image in it."

If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has His eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

Coming together is a beginning...

Keeping together is progress...

Working together is success.

Happiness is a choice!
Our lives move in the direction of our most dominant thoughts and images,
so be careful of how you see yourself.

Remember that you are wonderful and blessed!
The key to being patient is to just settle down and try to maintain a positive outlook.

Relax and observe the lessons nature teaches. Everything happens in due season.

With wisdom, we can figure out that any crisis is temporary.
You don't need eyes to see, you need a vision!!
The difference between a dream and a goal is a timeline and accountability.
Contentment comes not from great wealth
but from few wants.

When you wish someone joy,
you wish them peace, love, prosperity, happiness...

And all the good things life has to offer!

The greatest thing is this world, is not so much where we are,
but in what direction are we moving.

Keep moving, keep growing, keep believing and NEVER give up!
Time is forever moving forward.
There is no reason to fear change or to hold too tightly the past
when so much beauty lies ahead.
Live each day as it comes and do not borrow trouble, by dreading tomorrow!!

They came for the Communists, and I didn't object for I wasn't a Communist;

They came for the Socialists, and I didn't object for I wasn't a Socialist;

They came for the labor leaders and I didn't object for I wasn't a labor leader;

They came for the Jews, and I didn't object for I wasn't a Jew;

Then they came for me, and there was no one left to object.

The secret to life is knowing that beauty and great wisdom
can be found in the simplest of moments.
Remembering where we come from
can help us see more clearly where we'd like to go.
What we wear is important! We all want to dress appropriately and look our best.
When we feel we look good, we have more energy and confidence.

But also remember to dress ourselves every morning with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Make a commitment to be happy!
Everything we feed will grow.
If you feed it negatively it will grow negative.
If you feed it positively it will grow positive.

What are you feeding and what are you growing??
In a world dominated by put-downs, let's resolve to master the art of building others up
by what we say to them and about them.
Such "introductions" can be one of the most important gifts we can give today.

Make a commitment to be happy!

Be encouraged: Pray first, aim high, stay focused!
